Equidae Simulated Game is copyright © 2008. All rights reserved.

Equidae Simulated Game (herein referred to as "EQUIDAE") is created for entertainment purposes only and any similarities to factual individuals, animals, facilities or events are purely coincidental. Additionally, Equidae does not take any responsibility for the actions of its members, and all users are asked to behave in a manner that is conducive to the general positive atmosphere of the game.

All websites created in affiliation with Equidae are clearly marked as being part of a simulated game, and any donations received are used to pay for the operating costs incurred while running the game.

What is a "simulated" game?

A simulated game is one in which members are invited to own imaginary animals and care for them as they would in real life circumstances. The vast majority of simulated games are not completely automated, but do include certain features that are, such as a registry or bank.

Simulated games also use a mixture of email contact and Forum participation to conduct game play. Showing, breeding, buying and selling are all conducted via the game's Forum, and many simmers feel that this contributes to the overall friendly atmosphere of the game.

Introducing Factual Animals into the Game

Under no circumstance may an animal that exists in real life be created to reside within the game, unless it can be proven (without a doubt) that the member owns the animal personally.

However, players are encouraged to use real life animals to build the pedigree of their simulated stock. Doing so promotes realism within the game and prompts players to educate themselves on lineage, breeding and the real life world of equine management.

Using Photographs Ethically

Many simmers choose to add an element of realism to their game play by using photographs to depict their simulated horses. While we encourage this practice, we insist that our members take every measure to obtain proper approval from the owner or photographer.

While the majority of simmers have no problems extending this courtesy, a few may choose to disregard this policy and use the photograph(s) without permission. In extreme instances, users may even see fit to hotlink the image rather than uploading it to their own server. In these circumstances, we encourage the photographer to contact the member directly to resolve the issue.

It should be noted that Equidae does not condone hotlinking in any way. Members found guilty of this will have their membership revoked immediately.

Use of Intellectual Property
